The Parenting Column
Hi, I’m Hannah, Mummy, Wife, Daughter, Daughter-in-law, Sister, Sister-in-law, Auntie, Godmother, Niece, Friend, Employee, Blogger and now Columnist! The list is endless and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my last note, I talked about wishing us all well for 2021, well what a challenge it has been for us all so far! Between the kids being home-schooled and pancake day (don't talk to me about pancake day), it has felt like an uphill struggle.
Now we are moving into Spring and nights are getting longer, with the glimmer of lockdown slowly easing, we are looking forward to getting back to some sort of normality and ramping up our family adventures. The uphill struggle now seems to be levelling off with the children going back to school and the sun is shining (well apart from today as it's chucking it down!)
As a family, we have had to overcome lots of different challenges which I'm sure you all can relate to in some way. We have celebrated Barney's birthday, Toby’s birthday, my birthday, Chris’ birthday, Christmas, and our 10th Wedding anniversary in lockdown.
As a family, we like to throw a party and not being able to has been a bit rubbish, especially when it came to our wedding anniversary.
However, my amazing best friend had organised a beautiful doorstep afternoon tea from a lovely local company called Grazing Together.
It was so perfect and on reflection yes we should have been in hotter climates but it was perfect in every way.
Now for the boys... Toby is about to start his transfer to his middle school and this fills me and Chris with so much anxiety, but we are trying to stay positive and encourage Toby to ask questions. Barney, we have just started “no nappies at night”. The first two nights were a success, we thought we had cracked it, oh how we were wrong... slowly with this one I think... and lots of washing!
Me and Chris... Chris has taken up yoga since the start of lockdown so it all very yan and yang, whereas I am very pizza and wine! Who knew that by being in a lockdown you could put on two stone!
We know that we are very blessed to have what we have and we are all very grateful.
So all that it leaves me to say for now is stay safe and remember we are all in this together!
